What is a Content Management System, you ask?

By definition, a Content Management System (CMS) is computer software that is used to create, edit, manage, and publish content in a consistently organized fashion. For our purposes, a CMS is a set of tools and technologies that are the framework used for quickly and easily publishing information on the web.

The CMS enables us to build the blue print or design for your website. We are able to layout the style and structure. We create the initial web pages and navigation structure based on your needs. We provide the technical functionality that helps to enable you to fill in the details about your business or organization. Without a CMS, this is the heavy lifting - what you have no doubt heard called "writing code" - the tedious and complicated part of putting a website together. So once we have built the shell of your new site, using our content management system is as easy as running a word processor or sending an email. You sign in, navigate to the information or section that you want to change and click the edit button. You change the content in an easy to use editor and your options are provided as drop downs and edit boxes. There is even online help in places to assist you. It is that easy, there is no software to install on your computer and you can edit your content from anywhere you have an Internet connection.

To help make it even easier to get started, we offer a one on one training class on how to use the CMS for every customer. We have a library of customized documentation on how to use each module within the CMS so that after training you can go back refer to it and say “oh yeah, I remember now…” We also offer email and telephone support for your questions to help our customers who may have issue.

I have developed on old style websites where everything had to be done in code and doing it yourself only produced so-so results.
